Code of Conduct

Enjoyment & Teamwork

  • This is the foundation of our sport, let’s make our club a fun place to be
  • It is the responsibility of all members to ensure those around continue to enjoy their cricket
  • Cricket is a team sport, we are a team on an off the field
  • When on the field, all players work together towards the common goal
  • The team’s performance is more important than individual achievements and milestones

Inclusivity

  • Treat everyone equally and not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, nationality, colour, parental or marital status, religious belief, class or social background, sexual preference or political belief
  • Anyone and everyone must be made to feel welcome at LDCC. It is the responsibility of all members to ensure that this is the case
  • Ensure that activities are appropriate for the age, maturity, experience and ability of the individual
  • Respect Young People’s opinions when making decisions about their participation in Cricket
  • Not smoke, drink or use banned substances whilst actively working with Young People in the Club.
  • Not provide Young People with alcohol when they are under the care of the Club
  • A particular focus of LDCC is to provide opportunities, with bat, ball, and off the field, to younger players. They are the future of the club
  • New players must always be made to feel welcome by other members

Respect

  • Members will treat all those involved in activities at LDCC as they themselves would like to be treated
  • Not condone, or allow to go unchallenged, any form of discrimination if witnessed
  • Special respect will be shown to match officials before, during and after games. They are volunteers and we are very grateful for their service
  • Our teammates will make mistakes from time to time but we respect that they are all trying their best. All LDCC members will help to create a supportive and positive attitude, on and off the field
  • The facilities at LDCC are for everyone's use and will be left as members would wish to find them. It is the responsibility of each member to contribute towards keeping our facilities in good order, don’t wait to be asked, get involved

Improvement

  • Everyone at LDCC is committed to bettering themselves and the club, on and off the field
  • Recognise good performance not just match results
  • Place the well-being and safety of Young People above the development of performance
  • Where time and other commitments allow, LDCC players  will endeavour to attend training and/or practice before games
  • Senior players will provide support to young and new players to help them improve
  • In the pursuit of improvement, all members will politely remind others of the values outlined in this charter when necessary
